The children will also be conducting weekly grammar lessons.  Each week will have a different focus which the children will be expected to show in their writing.

Topic

This half term our Topic is ‘The Battle of Britain

Homework:

Daily:
Could you ensure that your child reads every day, for at least 10 minutes, and their reading record is signed at least once a week by an adult. Once children have finished a book, they can complete an Accelerated Reader test in school to work on their comprehension skills. Children will be required to practise their weekly spellings every night using ‘Look, Cover, Check’ and also practise their times tables every night.

Weekly:
Spelling homework will be handed out on a Thursday and is to be completed and returned to school by the following Thursday.  Maths and Literacy homework will be completed via Google Classroom and will be an online weekly homework quiz. For those who do not have access to the internet outside of school, they will be given a paper copy to complete at home. New quizzes will be set each Thursday with the expectation that they are completed by the following Thursday.

PE:

We shall be doing PE outside throughout the year, therefore would you please provide warm jogging bottoms, sweat tops and trainers. For indoor PE, your child will need navy shorts, a plain white top and plimsolls. Please make sure that everything is labelled with your child’s name. No earrings are allowed to be worn in school.
