I have been a Governor of Newtons Primary for approximately 25 years.  I started as Governor, then Staff Governor and currently Co-opted Governor. I have been the SEN Governor and am now the Development and Liaison Governor.  I have a working knowledge of the school.

I have always felt it a privilege to be a part of the Governing Body of this very unique school and to support the Headteacher and staff in any way I am able to. All my  children received their Primary Education here and one has become a very successful teacher, now taking the route of Deputy Headship.

My employment is at Newtons School as the Finance and Admin Officer.  I am also first port of call for parents and visitors entering the school.  I feel I have a good rapport with the parents.

I have many years’ experience of working with finance and have a good understanding of the budget and our budgetary requirements.

I am committed to moving the school forward and ensuring the children receive the best education they can, through a broad and balanced curriculum, during their years here.

I am involved with our Ballroom Club and liaise with our PE Teacher, looking for new ventures the club can become involved with.  I also organise fundraising for the Ballroom club so that we can buy appropriate clothes and provide transport to take us to venues.  We take them to tea dances at the Windmill Hall and when the opportunity arises, we invite the members of the Windmill Tea Dance to a tea dance Newtons.

I was involved with the PTA for many years and organised fundraising for the school.

Our Vision Statement ‘together we reach for our personal best’ describes our school perfectly, and every child in our school, regardless of ability, is encouraged to strive for their personal best.
