Could you ensure that your child reads every day, for at least 10 minutes and their reading record is signed at least once a week by an adult. Once children have finished a book, they can complete an Accelerated Reader test in school to work on their comprehension skills. Children will be required to practise their weekly spellings every night using ‘Look, Cover, Check’ and also practise their times tables every night.

Spelling homework will be handed out on a Thursday and is to be completed and returned to school on the following Thursday. Homework will be sent out via Google Classroom on a Thursday and is expected to be completed by the following Thursday. We have a homework club running every lunch time, should the children wish to complete their work in the lunch hour, and hard copies are available for children who do not have access to a computer at home.

We shall be doing PE outside throughout the year, therefore would you please provide warm jog bottoms, sweat tops and trainers. For indoor PE, your child will need navy shorts, a plain white top and plimsolls. Please make sure that everything is labelled with your child’s name. No earrings are allowed to be worn in school.
